BPI converted this existing 15,000 sf, facility into a new state of the art 19,000 sf type V, sprinklered , Adult Day Health Care with a Medical Clinic Component. Korajack Srivongse was the Project Architect, Marlene Ramirez the project coordinator, William Villalobos the Project Manager, and Frank Villalobos, FAIA who oversaw the entire team including the consultants. Originally designed to meet LEED Silver Certification, the building retained most of the designed sustainable elements such as Solatube natural lighting, site infiltration design, mechanical air filtration systems, recycled finishes, and occupancy censored fixtures. Barrio Planners also entitled the change of use of the building to Occupancy B and I4 under the Los Angeles department of City Planning. The facility had been dilapidated for approximately five years, with overgrown mature trees, vandalism, and water damage.
