BPI was the lead firm to prepare and seek consensus of Architectural Guidelines for the $200 million reconstruction at East Los Angeles College. BPI conducted focused interviews to determine campus goals and desired Architectural character of future structures; analyzed the 48-year growth of the campus; analyzed the Architectural character of existing structures; and the impact to the campus of the College Master Plan. Through a series of discussion with the College President, his cabinet, faculty representatives, and selected Architects of future structures, BPI secured a consensus of the preferred Architectural style for the College. The final Guidelines included a description and examples of Architectural style, a series of design principles, and recommended palettes for color, materials and glazing. The final
Guidelines were approved by the College, the College District Board, and incorporated as part of the Campus Development Guidelines.
