The Eastside LRT Partners is a joint-venture team of Barrio Planners Inc., Parsons Brinckerhoff, Quade & Douglas, Inc. and Jenkins Gales & Martinez, Inc. On this project the LRT partners group are responsible for the inception through completion of the Metro Goldline Extension Project; running through East Los Angeles. BPI was the lead architect, with Frank Villalobos, in charge. Frank provided oversight on all eight stations designs. In addition to providing exceptional architectural station designs, BPI also provided Urban Design criteria and landscape architecture designs that include a stamped concrete guide-way and theme trees at each station throughout the entire At-Grade portions of the light rails system. Raul Escobedo was responsible for oversight of the Urban Design and Landscape design effort. This Project, which is currently under construction, is to be completed in 2009.

Eastside Business Assistance Center

The Eastside Business Assistance Center (EBAC) provides a wide range of services to the business community. It is funded by the City of Los Angeles Community Development Department and operated by Barrio Planners, Inc. Its primary function is to provide classroom entrepreneurial training, technical assistance, and consulting services to new and emerging businesses located in the East/Northeast and Metropolitan Districts of the City of Los Angeles.

East Los Angeles WorkSource Center

The East Los Angeles WorkSource Center is the host of (the BPI) EBAC entrepreneur training courses, together sharing the goal of business assistance. In the Los Angeles region the WorkSource center is the resource for businesses looking for qualified employees of an individual looking for work and business resources.

Mothers of East Los Angeles

Started in the 1980’s, “Mothers Of East Los Angeles” was formed of a group of Latina women under the guidance of Monsignor John Moretta of Resurrection Church with the dedication to fight the then proposed construction of a State Prison in East Los Angeles and an Incinerator in the city of Vernon. To this day MELA strives to improve the communities of East L.A.

Boyle Heights Chamber of Commerce

The Boyle heights Chamber of Commerce is a volunteer private membership organization formed in 1979. The board of directors are all volunteers who plan and conduct events and activities aimed at increasing awareness and opportunities which promote growth of all small business in Boyle Heights on behalf of its membership.
